Dr. Evelyn Schmidt-Meergans is a founding member, has been a board member of the Vereinigung für Betriebliche Bildungsforschung e. V. since 2018 and works as a project manager at the Institut für Betriebliche Bildungsforschung IBBF.
After completing her sociology studies and doctorate at Humboldt University Berlin, she worked there for ten years as a research assistant in the Department of Sociology of Work, Industry, Operations and Organisation in research and teaching.
After that, Dr Schmidt-Meergans devoted herself increasingly to questions of vocational training and held management positions in various training companies.
Since May 2018, she has held a leading position at the Institute for Workplace Education Research. Her work focuses on topics such as the future of work, competence development and learning in the process of work, digitalisation of vocational education and training and the professionalisation of in-company continuing education.
