Prof. Dr. Philipp Gonon was Professor of Vocational Education and Training at the University of Zurich (UZH) until his retirement in early 2021. He continues to work at the University of Zurich, including involvement in a major project on the digital transformation of schools at upper secondary level. He brings the expert knowledge of a fulfilling working life dedicated to vocational education.

His work and research focuses on International Comparative Education Policy in the field of vocational, in-company education and training, Historical (Vocational) Education Research, Quality Assurance and Evaluation.

Among other positions, Gonon was Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Education at the University of London, was awarded the professorship of vocational, in-company continuing education at the University of Trier, and conducted countless research projects. From 2016 to 2019, he was Director of the Institute of Education at UZH.

Since January 2021, Prof. Dr. Philipp Gonon has been a member of the advisory board of the IFBB.
