Jan Foelsing

Development Enthusiast

Jan Foelsing is a New Learning expert, lecturer, textbook author, blogger and speaker. During his more than 20 years of professional experience, he has worked for various organizations in a wide range of industries. In 2014, he founded Jan Foelsing Elevation Labs, a company dedicated to connecting learning, work and innovation more effectively.

His current focus is, on a strategic level, on the development of effective learning strategies and learning ecosystems to “prepare” the breeding ground for a value-added learning culture in organizations, including the appropriate digital support. True to the motto “Do what you preach”, he supports the establishment of (Digital) Upskilling Circle offerings at the operational level (see: https://skillhacker.club).

Until the beginning of 2021, Jan worked at Pforzheim University as a scientific project assistant. Before that, he worked as an IT expert mainly in the finance and automotive sector. He has also been active in the startup sector since 2014.

The Learning Development Framework (https://LDframe.com) is a result of his work at Pforzheim University and in the startup sector. In 2021 he also founded, together with Prof. Dr. Anja Schmitz, the Learning Development Institute (https://learningdevelopment.institute).

His focus areas include New Learning Strategy Development, New Learning Design, Learning Ecosystem Development, EdTech selection assistance, Upskilling Circle concepts, Curation and Community Building.

His goal is to advance the high-impact connection of working with learning and innovation embedded in meaningful digital support.

He is passionate about actively exploring and co-creating the new worlds of learning and work. Learning by doing.
